Want to discover exceptional and unusual sites in the heights of Thann? Lets yourself be surprised by the "Witches eye", which looks over the Alsace plain and watches over the inhabitants of the town. The legend says that the Engelbourg castle having no more strategic interest, was destroyed in 1673 by order of the king Louis XIV. After three explosion attempts by the fire workers, the big tower rose up, broke into several parts and one of them fell and formed the "Witches eye".
